Frequently asked questions.
Do beeswax candles smell?
Beeswax candles have a slight aroma which is the natural smell of honey. If you are after a candle that has more of a heavy scent, I would suggest you please purchase a different candle like soy or paraffin wax.
The pros and cons of purchasing a beeswax candle?
There is only one con to purchasing a beeswax candle. This con is that they are the most expansive candle that you can purchase on the market. This is since beeswax is a rare commodity to come across.
· The pros in purchasing a beeswax candle are many. First would be that it is a natural ingredient and does not emit any chemicals into the air that you are breathing in. A 100% pure beeswax candle will have no added colours or fragrances added.
· Beeswax candles have been scientifically proven to help with asthma and allergy suffers as they clean the air. They act as a natural great air purifier. This is done from when they are burnt it releases a negative ion. Dust, pollen, mould, odour, and other toxins are positive ions and when burning a beeswax candle, it attracts these ions and drops them hence the candle purifies the air.
· Beeswax candles burn time on average 10x longer than any other candle.
· If a beeswax candle is in a draft free area, they do not drip.
· It is a mood improver due to the flame of the candle being the same as that of the sun. Because beeswax has a higher melting point than other waxes such as soy and paraffin wax, it emits the brightest, most warm-toned flame.
Why is my beeswax candle smoking?
Bees wax candle if nothing else has been added will not smoke. If you candle is smoking either an additive has been added to the candle or the wick is too tall. If the wick is too big for the candle it will smoke. This is because the flame is melting the wax to quickly and your candle is not burning as efficiently as it should be.
How long do beeswax candles burn for?
If you have purchased a 100% beeswax candle (and for this example I will use a tea light candle size) each candle will burn on average of 16 hours. A normal tea light paraffin candle with burn between 8-9 hours.
